The Government are committed to reducing down the UK's carbon emmissions, with this in mind they launched a range of free grants to those on benefits. This means the people that need it most can benefit from a free new boiler in their home to help reduce their household bills. If you qualify, you may also benefit from free home insulation as well.

Affordable Warmth
Affordable Warmth is a Government backed scheme, funded by money previously collected by the Utility suppliers and is designed to improve the energy efficiency of your home for free. It is designed to attack fuel poverty in the UK and help the people that really need it most. There are many people in the UK who can not afford to heat their homes sufficiently due to rising prices and heating equipment that doesn’t work properly.
This can have severe effects for people, especially the more vulnerable like our children or the elderly. Affordable warmth does what it says… It makes heating more affordable, meaning that you can heat your home to a comfortable level and not worry about running the hot tap.
The Cost:
All measures installed under the Affordable Warmth Scheme are free. This includes the survey, the equipment and the installation.
Who Qualifies:
Households on an income of less than £15,860 a year and a boiler that is broken or over 10 years old. You must also be in receipt of one of the following:
Family Tax Credit
Pension Credit
Working Tax Credit
Disability Benefits
Types of measures installed:
Heating: Condensing boilers, radiators and pipes.
Insulation: Cavity wall, loft insulation
